KCHR charters new Key Club at Blessed Trinity with 79 members
A new Key Club is just around the corner for Historic Roswell Kiwanis!
Key Club International will charter a new Key Club at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School with 79 charter members (almost 10% of the student body) as of September 1, 2006. KCHR President Jim Hirz will serve as Kiwanis Key Club Advisor for this new club.
This will be the third Key Club sponsored by Historic Roswell Kiwanis. The Key Club of Roswell High School was chartered in 1982. The sponsorship for the Milton High School Key Club was passed to Alpharetta Kiwanis Club; Historic Roswell Kiwanis chartered Alpharetta Kiwanis 1999.
Key Club International is the world's largest high school service organization.
Members of the Kiwanis Club of Historic Roswell, led by club president Jim Hirz, immediate past president Bo Whitley, and Past Georgia Kiwanis District Governor Ron Jackson met with school administrators and students at Blessed Trinity Catholic School to discuss a new Key Club at that school. The delegation from KCHR met with Mr. Kevin P. Kiefer, Director of Student Activities for Blessed Trinity, and students Marc Mastrangelo and Alex McConnell. So far, the students have completed many needed steps for charter, including the completion of the essential Petition for Charter.
Historic Roswell Kiwanis is presently sponsoring the Key Club of Roswell High School. KCHR also sponsored the Key Club of Milton High School, but gave that sponsorship to the Alpharetta Kiwanis Club when Historic Roswell Kiwanis formed that Kiwanis club.
Blessed Trinity Catholic High School is a coeducational college preparatory institution of Catholic Education of North Georgia, Inc. (CENGI), located behind The Home Depot on Woodstock Road. It presently has 850 students in grades 9 through 12.
