Historic Roswell Kiwanis conducted its 8th annual Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo on Sunday, April 26, 2009 while the Historic Roswell Criterium Bicycle races were taking place nearby.

Held in the parking lot of the Roswell United Methodist Church on Mimosa Blvd, the Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo was co-sponsored by the Key Club of Roswell High School.

Historic Roswell Kiwanis believes that bicycle safety is one of the most important skills we can teach in order to keep children who ride safe on the roads.

The Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo was an organized "class" where children learn about cycling safety and bicycle handling skills organized by the Kiwanis Club of Historic Roswell. After the "class" portion, the children had an obstacle course to navigate through in order to "graduate" from the class and be eligible to race in the Kids Race to be held on the same course as the Pro race!

All bicycles were inspected and "tuned-up" by the mechanics of Roswell Bicycle, and all helmets were checked.

After the rodeo, Roswell Police closed roads in the area and participants were provided an escort to the race circuit.  Emergency Medical Technicians from the Roswell Fire Department were on-site during the Rodeo.
