At the weekly meeting of January 21, 2010, Historic Roswell Kiwanis celebrated the 95nd anniversary of the founding of Kiwanis International. 

Georgia Kiwanis Governor Nancy Walden shared thoughts on the history of Kiwanis International and on what the orgainzation has become in the past 95 years.

The first Kiwanis club was organized in Detroit, Michigan, receiving its charter from  the  state  of Michigan on January 21, 1915, regarded  as the birth date of Kiwanis.

Since then, Kiwanis has spread to all inhabited continents of the globe. Kiwanis International has grown from 650 members on January 1, 1916  to over 250,000 today.

Governor Nancy helped to install five new members of Historic Roswell Kiwanis.
