Roswell Kiwanian James Schantz, D. C., was part of Flying Doctors medical mission to Vietnam November 1 through November 8. Dr. Schantz reported on his trip to Historic Roswell Kiwanis on January 8, 2009. A Doctor of Chiropractic, he was supported in part by the Kiwanis Club of Historic Roswell.
This is Flying Doctors first medical mission to Vietnam. The group worked with Vietnamese doctors to bring medical/dental care the small city of Tay Ninh, near Bien Hoa in the Southern Highlands of Vietnam. They had an orthopedic surgical team as well as providing medical and dental care.

The group operates under the “Mother Teresa Principle,” focusing on the poorest of the poor who live in conditions that are difficult for most Americans to imagine.
