Historic Roswell Kiwanis Tree Project receives $3,000 from Keep Roswell Beautiful
















July 21 -- Historic Roswell Kiwanis' tree labeling project has received $3,000 from Keep Roswell Beautiful, Inc., as part of a $68,000 grant from the Fulton County Commission and Fulton County Commissioner Lynne Riley.

The idea of Kiwanian Roger Lamprey, the project will place signage near trees in local parks to educate visitors as to genus, species and other unique features.  Trees to be labeled will be selected by Kiwanians, Roswell Recreation Department employees and the Roswell City arborist.

The project is a joint effort with Roswell Recreation and Parks Department and will begin in fall, 2008.  Roger Lamprey is chair of the project.

Kiwanian Ron Jackson is board chair of Keep Roswell Beautiful.  Roswell Kiwanians Roger Lamprey and Randy Switts also serve on the Keep Roswell Beautiful board.  Kiwanian Janet Liberman is Keep Roswell Beautiful Executive Director.
